I was thinking of a new personal project and came up with the idea of a dragon fight. I wanted the idea that both knight and dragon was evenly matched and had been fighting for hours if not days. Below is the initial idea. I’ll start refining it now, making the background, dragon and knight better.

I was having problems with the dragon, I just couldn’t get it right. Today Petar Meseldzija postes an amazing couple of dragon drawings and really inspired me (check it out here). So I looked at some crocodile photos and came up with the below sketches.

As for the background I’m leaning towards a blackened landscape like the aftermath of a forest fire.

We’ll see how the image goes, it might end up as a never finished project but it’s good to keep busy on personal projects.
