These two illustrations are for the upcoming book “Love Child”. Using seems to give me more freedom and flexibility. With watercolour I would have to be a lot more aware of the light and dark value’s of the composition, either using masking fluid for some parts or constantly using fresh water to keep other parts lighter than others. With Gouache I still have to be aware of the light and dark area’s so that the painting is kept fresh and vibrant but not with the same fanatical adherence. In all I’ve been having fun.
